Noindex your tag pages.
They shouldn't be indexed anyway, it's not a useful result on google and are only for easier navigating on your site.
Should be easy with the yoast plugin anyway.

At google webmaster help forum they said it can take between 3 and 6 weeks. It took 2 weeks after I made the changes for me.

Hostgator representative just told me that the sites will be on the same ip address so they wont count. You need special seo hosting where you get different Ip's...
