Press releases are an excellent way to get back links in the short term. Why I am saying short term is that although press releases are easy to write and distribute on 100's of press release sites, the increase in traffic fals back almost as quickly as it rose in the first place if you leave it for a while even a month. Article submissions offer a good way as well. Akthough to be honest it is quite time consuming.
