OH there are so so many factors - 9 tips just ain't going to do it .....lol

You really have to be on the ball and study this stuff.

an example - Did you know that Google spiders are case sensitive?

Let's say you manually linked up your pages and directories and you linked one page called "Bullcrap.htm" then on another page you linked "bullcrap.htm"
- Uh Oh - duplicate content - good old Google thinks you're spamming!

Or "/Directory/default.htm" and somewhere else you put it as "/Directory/" - UH Oh duplicate content!

Or "/Directory/default.htm" and somewhere else you put it as "/directory/default.htm" - UH Oh duplicate content!


There's a lot to this crap, a few tips and tricks will help but you really have to know "everything" if you want to do this for a living.......

Be sure that your urls are correctly forwarded to ensure that they comply with dsouza's point 1. E.g. a lot of websites don't forward example.com to www,example.com so they may be considered as different pages by Search Engines. Websites could get penalized as a result. Do Give IT A Look.

not too bad, although I don't agree that off-site is 'more' important ... it's about 50/50, after all links from your own site count as links just as well !

and you forgot social bookmark submissions and of course ... getting 'real' links !
