How do I build the SEO of my website?

I have had many people working on the SEO (search engine optimization) of my site and have not been happy with what they have done. How can I do it myself?

Natural links, do not go for offer such as 1000 directories submission or 500 directories for $10, Rubbish
So article submission, but again not to 1000 directories, choose 1-2 well developed directories and become their athour. Do not be in harry. Number of links are not important, weight of link that's you should be about

i think you need to work on onpage optimization first... before hitting offpage... check my sig.. im sure this covers up from onpage to offpage optimization.

first you have to take a look at your html your meta tags your robot texts and content make sure that you have a unique rich content then build as much as many quality backlinks for your site.

seo is really a common sense people put way to much emphasis on it.
Create a title with your main keyword
Create a description
target 8-12 keywords that are most relevant to your site.
create keyword rich content with about 1% to 3% keyword density
Promote the hell out of it!

First thing, you can't get all the information regarding what to do in SEO for your site. SEO is endless topic to discuss. Just read the things in forum and on sites , and apply them. Simple techniques will bring you a lot of traffic, no thing else required. And don't go for offers like 100 click in 5$, 2 click for one click and like that. It's a wastage of money and time, nothing else.

Basic link building is important. Article submission and press release really help to get backlinks and traffic.

i agree with this. for me, in page optimization plays a critical part on seo because you will base your off page optimization to you in page.

I think before going off page optimization you must start on onpage optimization, what ever you do with your onpage or inpage optimization it will greatly reflect on your offpage optimization.

Joining forums, reading SEO articles from SEO pioneers and application of different SEO techniques you'll learn as you go on...
If you're really determined to learn SEO, there's nothing impossible...
