Domain names help with SEO?
Does the actual domain name help in SEO?
and do you all think the domain name "smartbusinessnews (.net)" was a good domain find?
I was sort of surprised it wasn't taken...

Having keywords a part of the domain name does help in the short term. It is easier to get a ranking for the keyword if it is a part of the domain name. However in the long run it does not matter. Domain names without jeywords do equally well in the long run. If very limited or bno search engine marleting work is undertaken then I gues a site with keyword in the domain name will rank higher.

Eh.. really? Not really.
I've never seen a difference because in some of the biggest keywords on the big G, a lot of Domains have nothing to do with the keyword it's self. Like I've said before and you'll hear me say a lot, content is king!

yep domain name does help a lot for new sites, especially if its a less competent keywords. I have seen sites without much content getting on 1st page just because they have related keyword in domain names.

I agree, on the long tail keywords the domain helps because normally other sites are not very SEO friendly to begin with, so every little bit help in the very smaller niches.

Well, incredibly long domain names don't help the situation but I've never seen a big difference in domain names.

the legal issue here is that, does domain name help/ affect your SEO..
Domain name associate with keywords helps your SERP ranking..

Yes it does help, but you stock with it as long as you site is up and running.
When search engines will stop putting weight on domains urls in their algos the fun will start, and sites making the right SEO will be the winners.
Your domain url may be not able to compete on different keywords targeted.

Search engines are still using the keywords from the domain names...so it can be beneficial to have a keyword domain.
