However, that you have to check where you are submitting your site. You can submit your site in related directories, you can exchange link with relevant sites and you can also do article submissions and social bookmarking to gain more links.

Good content could give you backlinks even without doing anything. if your site has a nice content or article, there are some, only few I think, that would copy your post and then use it in their sites/blogs with a link back to you.

Yes, I agree. Through providing your site with quality content, you can get natural backlinks since more sites/blogs will naturally link with your site.

I agree. You can get the best out from forum if it has something that relates to your site.
