Search engines don't like popups at all, they tend to de value the site which has it.

Game sites and freeware sites have pop-ups and obviously it has a good traffic because if you will notice, users don't mind the pop-ups on that site as long as they can have their downloads.

thus also saying how useless they could be.... but then again, another argument could still come out with the issue of pop ups-its content. how often do you see site with pop ups that are actually useful? just said that because of the observation that most of the pop ups that I encounter are mostly advertisements or some even spams.

Yeah they are useless but effective on that kind of sites, I agree on you that many of the pop-ups are useless but if you are downloading freewares and game software you don't mind that. Actually I only encounter advertisement pop-ups on some adult sites.

If it's needed to click it like vote button if you're familiar with that pop-up. I encounter it on some rom site and you need to click it to have your rom file.

pop-ups are kinda dead, but exit pop-ups are still effective. Top marketers are still using exit pop-ups to build lists.

I think it doens't add anything to SEO and bothers the visitors. I don't like pop-ups at all. It is interfereing. Rather have a button and let me choose if I want to open the page. It's my opinion. For some cases maybe like if you have an act, sales or offer, or a survey or so, have it there temporarily. I never liked them.

Yeah, you're right.. It also bothers the SEO
Coz those pop ups are like a redirecting site...

Its like stealing the supposed traffic for the intended website and bothers the viewers as well
