Difference between SEO and PPC

I know this might be a little elementary, but what is the main difference between SEO and PPC? Do you consider PPC to be part of SEO?

PPC campaigns does not contribute to SEO really. Most ppc ads goes through an intermediate url to record statistics.

SEO is the process of optimization.
PPC is part of promotion.

They are two distinct things and have no impact on each other whatsoever.

SEO is being able to top the SERPs in search engines naturally - which could be free if you do it yourself while PPC is a way to advertise your - which would invlolve spending money.

PPC is not under SEO. Let's just say, PPC and SEO is under SEM.

SEO is for organic, while PPC is for paid results

SEO contributed by means of oraganic aspect while ppc are result from paid search engines.

PPC is really a get results now kinda thing and can be very beneficial when it is extremely competitive to get to the top of the SERP.
