Google analytics
hi friends,
I'm feeling slightly paranoid about using Google analytics.
I'm aware that bounce rate and a few other factors, all available through analytics, are also relevant to SEO.
The question is: would this information be available to Google if I didn't add their analytics script to my source code?

I use both analystics and AwStats, for me it's all about diversity, they both tell me something different about my website.

google has some information not the all like your page views, logs etc. You need to put the google code so that it can get your server logs and track the visitors and other stats.

First off GA doesn't get your logs.
It tracks via java in you page code.
There are many reasons it isn't accurate. One being a lot of companies (corps), don't allow java, if 40 - 50% of your traffic is during day time hours (in the US) you're not gathering stats on a lot of your traffic.
Depending on where you put the GA codes, Googles own spiders choke on it ...ouch
The answer to your question is no - Goo0gle would have no idea what your site is doing other than traffic from their engine.
Get a decent log analyzer, get access to your logs and you'll know what's really going on with your site.

I would put it on any sites we run.
If you've know SEO trickery to hide, I don't see a problem.

google can't read properly your site stats w/o the code. You should install it to see the report properly.

It is an obvious SOP that you should put the code first before it functions well.

a broken code won't really show results. i think what some here are trying to say is that google doesn't give away everything. that's why some use other web stat codes

It will not work for sure. you must insert the script to your page before the analytics log all your visitor and collect data for your site

Yes.
That reason why you are using google analytics is to know what information google gets about your site.

Hi,
Google analytic is very much important to track your website traffic and user behavior on your site. This analytic report and complete user behavior report can help you to make changes in your website according to search engines or according to user so that maximum number of user can come to your website and stay there.
If you will not add Google tracking script in your website then you can not get a tracking report from your Google. To get this report you will have to add that script in your web pages. Google don't tracks your details until you don't add this script.

Hi. What I know about GAnalytics is that it gives the information that Google gets from a site.. Its ok if you don't subscribe to it. The thing is, you will not be able to monitor the movement of Google towards your site.

it is a service provided by Google that allows you to view and interact with detailed information about the visitors to your website.
In basic terms this information allows you to see who is visiting your website, how they are getting there and most importantly, what they are doing once they are on your website.
