Can i do this to get better results in search engines?

Hello,

i know having keywords in a web site is very important.
I have Keywords in my web site.

Can i also do this:
1. Create a small table just in the begining of my web site.
2. Write a description full of important keywords.
3. Make that table invisible.

This way search engines would "read" that important text but will not be visible for visitors which is what i want.

I am trying this because my web site has a lot of images and not so much text. I used ALT text and also file names such as keyword-file.jpg but i think i need a little bit more.

Can i do this with the invisible table?
Will it work?

Thank You,
Miguel

P.S: I am most interested in Google.

1. Depends - I have seen site that manage to do this and have an aesthetically pleasing header. Don't over do it.

2. You could, but better to write concise description focusing on important keywords. Write it for the people not search engine.

3. Big no no

Psst... Everyone is most interested in google.
First of all doing just onsite optimizaton, means stuffing keywords in your page, won`t effect your rakings much if you are targetting a high competitive kywd, or your PR is not much..
Again high rankings also depends upon the text you have used in anchor and few other things...

Now since you have asked specifically about On-site optimization..
Making table invisible is cloaking, if you get caught you can be penalized. Another effective method of cloaking is use invisible layers.

If you have lots of images, you can use innerHTML, another type of cloaking not so famous yet... It will render text to the spiders, while users will be shown images...

I am just answering your questions, but in my opinion doing only onsite optimization in not very effective...And cloaking is a bad thing.. avoid it.
A good solution is add more pages with juicy content. But you need to have Bacward Links with keywords stuffed in anchor text.

But if you have good PR, putting kywds in your title, links and main content will be quiet sufficient itself. But to get good rankings you need to have good link popularity..

-- Just my opinion ---

27lamps,

If you would like to rank better in ''Google'' for your products/services (no idea what they are though having looked at your site, as I don't understand the language.. sorry) I would suggest spending some time reading through some of the articles and posts throughout this forum..

There are many members here who will be more than willing to help you with some issues on improving your site and if there's is anything you don't quite understand.. simply ask.

I'd like to point to you 27lamps, that you are not going to get better rankings by simply placing thousands of keywords on your pages..

Read this post to see if you your website/pages follow these step by step rules to try and achieve better search engine friendly pages. http://www.v7n.com/forums/ftopic7888.html

What about Exchange Links Companies such as:

http://linksmanager.com/index.html
http://www.linkexchanged.com/
http://www.gotop.com/

They seem serious...i think.
What do you think?

Cheers,
Miguel

Link Exchanges sites can help you find link partner -- you still have to choose your link partner responsibly, i.e., relevant sites, make sure they really link to you (page with PR, crawlable), etc.

You are better off getting links from large directories like BlueFind, DMOZ, etc.

What do you mean?

You say that i should look for web sites in those directories and contact them directly to exchange links with them?

Thank You,
Miguel

Link Exchange Sites works by allowing members to see sites listed in their directories. It is assumed that these sites are interested in link exchange and can potentially become your "link partner".

Most Link Exchange Sites provide mechanism that allows link trade to happens. Some mechanisms are better than other.

Got it?

27lamps.

Don't do it. The time and effort and possible penalties for your idea aren’t worth it.

Take the advice from other posts. Work on good clean on-page SEO techniques and then get links.

Look here for directory submission ideas:

Thumbs down an easy formula

1. a well designed web page.

2. Proper title tag with keywords, good keyword density, proper headings and internal anchor text links.

3. Your site submitted in the most directories possible

4. Links exchanged with other sites

5. Making posts on forums with anchor text signatures

6. footers on all your pages with anchor text

it would help to know the keyword phrase you are looking to show up for.... the more qualified the easier it is to get a high rank... like "hair dresser compton".

.......this is my formula in a basic sense... and I am able to rank well for certain terms.... but not all, so it may not be the best method for everyone....

and believe me, EVERYONE has their own opinion on this forum.....
