Nope.

Nofollow doesnt hurt nor help you in rankings. But definitely, it will be counted as backlinks.

Do follow attributes are beneficial as it gives back link.
No follow attributes don't give back link.
if we set the attribute rel=nofollow
It tells crawler to not crawl the link.
if we set the attribute rel=dofollow
It tells crawler to crawl the link.

Dofollow actually arrived from the word Html attribute for anchor tag "nofollow".

dofollow is nothing, it means your link will be crawled from search engine robots which will be default crawable if even you don't use it.

Do follow means crawler not crawl your site it means not pass link juice you just got some traffic Not SE help for your site!!

it just means spiders will follow the link which is the default if the link is set to nofollow the spiders wont go to the linking page

As many have said here, using the nofollow command in your page meta tag or link is a command for search engines to ignore this page or link.

This is useful when you are making for an example a page which will contain a list of of numerous web sites links, then you will need to use the nofollow command.

For example if you want to make a useful page in your web site which is listing for example the top 100 social bookmarking sites, if you do not use the nofollow attribute for each link then your web site ranking and/or page rank will be affected really badly by this because your website is practically linking to 100 web sites. in this such a case, nofolllow attribute is the optimal solution as you apply it for each link of the 100 and thus your commanding search engines not to follow and to ignore these links and thus you have provided a useful list for users and your website was not affected in any way.
