how long does it take to get a website indexed?

Quote:
Most sites take an extended period of time to succeed. It can take a site three to six months from site launch to get listed completely in the search engines, and sometimes more for the entire site to be indexed and register all of the hyper-links from other sites.During this time, many sites turn into a black hole of expenses that can bankrupt a non-savvy small businessperson that has not planned accordingly. Between development
costs and hosting costs the monthly expenses pile up quick!
what do you guys think about the above paragraph?is it still valid?if yes, what can we do to prevent against this problem?

It means you have a marketing plan, and budget that takes into account this slump... and has other ways of income for during this period.

No, I don`t agree.. you want googlebot...to visit your site..
I will tell you a very very easy solution. Go to your control panel, and put your site address in your signature link. You will find googlebot at your door steps..

Anotherthing to notice is previosly, this forum was at IMR, which has been now shifted to v7n. IMR has a PR 8, while iv7n has a lower PR till this update. Within this update the PR will shoot up, and then you will lots of google bot roaming around this forum, which will land at your site through your signature links.
But one thing is there, inner page s of this forum , might take one more PR update to catch up...
so you can go to some other forum too....

-- Just my opinion ---

it takes many months to build links and get top rankings, but smaller sites can get indexed fairly quickly. off the start I would make sure I had a bunch of links from many different directories and rapidly changing sites like forums and blogs.

Googlebot indexed my site's homepage in its 23th day. I think it'll take another 20-30 days to index other pages. So, it's true that being completely indexed is not a quick process.

No, its prbably all guessing work... But 23 days is a bit long...
Check your log files for googlebot activity.... You might get some clue..

But if you take my advice, forget about indexing, just check your robots.txt file, optimise your site and go for link building for next two months.. You will automatically see quality results...

If the site is completely new and if you don't have much resources (and/or knowledge about new resources) to setup some quick links it takes such time.
I'm a fast learning student and I'm still learning about SEO...
