Getting Links from just ONE domain

Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to successfully gain link popularity and rankings by getting links mostly from one domain (ie a forum). Would it help if all (or a lot) of the posts have PR as well?

I just want to know if I'm wasting my time posting to the same forum if it's not really helping that much.

Thanks!

You need to spread your links around.

Dont post in just one forum and expect to get good ranking. And, what happens is that forum closes or you get banned? You just lost all of your backlinks.

Kev makes good points. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. You will get much better rankings if you build links using multiple strategies. Basically try to get your link on as many quality websites as possible.

It will help but not that much, it is still better to spread your backinks to different websites with different ip's

As far as forum links go it doesn't really make much difference because the links are worth very little in terms of PR or rankings. There's lots better ways to spend your time.

We get good Backlinks from forum postings and traffic aswell.. just need to use this opportunity with lots of care where we should not forget to follow the forum rules and regulations by mistake also.

If you get one backlink from a high PR page with same theme as your site, this certainly will improve your ranking, much better than getting amount of low quality unrelated backlinks

Even though it may not be so easy to post links on forums, and it takes a lot of time to reach the minimum amount of posts to be able to post one link, I believe it is a good strategy and it’s used a lot to make back links to your site.
