How do you measure success? with Seo

Other than keyword search ranking, page rank, back links and daily traffic.
What scales and objectives do other webmasters measure when they are using seo strategies. And when do you consider your efforts have been successful!

Traffic man, it's all about the traffic, organic that is. Some use PR as an indicator but I think if your traffic is moving up then you are doing something right.

I hear ya Inbound, let me try and re-phrase that question a little.
Lets say your trying to rank well for a specific two word key phrase that gets 400 visitors a day and your on page one in the fourth position and your getting 20 - 25% of what the projected daily visits for that keyword phrase should be, is that considered good or just lucky?

AS other said.. all consider traffic only.. working based on it..
make better content and updated daily is always good... Almost SEO concentrated on keyword search ranking, page rank, back links and daily traffic .. Also the monitoring the competitors activities

Agree with this point. But, for new website I think it's really hard to get natural traffic. Shall we use advertising at first?

I think PFB hit the nail on the head.

I was gonna say Conversion. But you could have a high conversion with a low ROI, it still wouldn't matter

on other point of view, to consider success in SEO career means having a good number of traffics that makes yor site earn a lot better... after this I guess your client would be happy on the progress you are doing for his/her site...

Agree on PFB.

Because even if you've had a business on the web and have been paying attention to aspects of search engine optimization but don't get enough ROI you want, its still useless..

I think that pretty much covers everything that I look for. When one of my sites ranks well in certain keywords, then I consider that a small success.

Then there is traffic. And I want lots of it. When I get more traffic then the server can handle, and on a regular basis - then I am happy.
