"Catagorized" isn't this what a directory is about? Some might be better "looking" or better catagorized then others but they are all a bunch of links on a domain with a search option.

Maybe I still miss something.

FFA = anyone can list, no standard, no censoring, no editing

Real Directory = sites are screened for appropriateness, put in a reasonable category, edited title description and url, etc.

It's an issue of quality.

Ok, thanks, that clears it up for me. I guess I didn't really understand the "FFA" part.

I think directories are also much more SE friendly as they usually have limited links per page.

FFA = free for all.

There is no standard for links being listed. You add it and it get listed automatically.

Your site can ended up next to porn, crime, illegal, hate, etc. sites.
