Hi All,
It might help if we understood better what it takes to produce that little green bar on the toolbar.
As I understand it, the following happens:
- Google Spiders all pages submitted
Cross references every page for back linking
Counts the number of back links to every site in its database
Calculates PR as number of links and shows it on a logarithmic scale
(250 - 500 Links = PR 4 and 1000 - 10000 Links = PR 5) (guestimate)
Factors in PR transfer and dampening or penalties
Updates the PR value along with the Domain Name Entry Record and Index data for the site.
To cover its 4,000,000,000 pages and do all that work for each site would take about a month.
Correct me if I am wrong here.
Back to you.
