Host Detective - Taking Offers
Host Detective
I'm currently taking offers on this site. Currently, banner and text link adverts on the site generate somewhere in the neighborhood of $900 per month. (Would be more but most of the ad space is used up by V7 /v7n adverts.)
Sale conditioned upon fulfillment of current advertising obligations.

$900 is how much it makes a month in ad revenue.

You could, lot of sites get sold their.
Did that whole WHT topic make you wanna sell it John? Why not let someone here on the forum take it over, but still cut you a big slice of the profit? I'd be willing to do that.

I'm not sure about web business, but brick and mortar usually will sell at a stating price of the income from the last 12 months times 2. However, the final price is much like a poker game, if you want to sell you get less than when someone who wants to buy approaches you first.
I think e-bay is not a bad idea.

24 monhs is way to long for a price littlefella, you are lucky to get 6-9 months for a site. Though each site is unique and a site is worth more to someone who has a strategic need for the site versus someone just buying it for the revenue. Either way I would put it up on ebay with a starting price of $1 and a reserve of $6000.

I say it would go for $6,000 to $10,000
Would it keep its V7 backlinks though?

The value of it is not just in the PageRank. It is, after all, a very good concept in rating hosts.
I think I might end up putting it on eBay. Might fetch a good sum.

Clearly once its sold the new owner would have full control to remove or keep any links on the site. More than likly the V7 links would be dropped. I know if I purchased it I would.

idk, I would still want the linkes from v7n going to it. So I would leave them up as a link exchange.
