You are off to a good start. Don't expect after doing these for a week that they will be benifical to gain traffic on the web takes a tremendous amount of work and you must be willing to fight for each unique hit. submit to directories is easy, but it need more time to wait to be indexed, so be more patience, if only 1 or 2 weeks.
I suggest one way links rather exchange links.
Also you should update your content frequently. You'd better update everyday.

If you have done all of those things, I think the best thing to do is focus on improving your site by adding more related and useful content. It seems that Google will improve your rating over time if you keep adding content. The higher rating will drive more traffic.

Please do some SEO in your site as it will help to bring organic traffic.Meta tags and h1 tags are very important for indexing of a site in SE.You have done everything good.Add these two ideas of mine and rinse and repeat your efforts.You will start getting results of your efforts after 6-8 months.
