Keyword question

when listing keywords... do i need to list all versions of plurals....
for example:

key words: cars, car, boat, boats,

or will 'cars' pick up all listings for 'car' as well

ALSO

if i want 2 want keywords..... car seats, car
can i just say keywords car seat.... and i am optimized for both " car, " and "seat" and "car seat"

Thanks in advance

you should use each unique variation. usually they are parts of phrases and not just single words though.

each phrase counts as its own phrase and you can use the same word in many unique phrases just use each unique phrase only once though.

as long as they are used in a non deceptive way it is recommended that you add common misspellings and similar phrases that do not appear in the page copy to the meta keywords tag

I read an article not so long ago with one of the programmers at yahoo. They actively encourage people to use mispelled words in the keywords tag.

I spoke with one on the phone today (and he spoke with the guy in that article) and he said the same thing.

they used Nordstroms as an example of a word that the company Nordstroms should have many of its misspelled versions in their keywords tag
