a site has images and has no images for SEs

Would it be more helpful for better SEO or SERP by adding some images to a site?

My question is:
Do major search engines more like sites have some images with?

Thanks
Regards,

If you add images you will get some traffic from Google's image search. In addition, people may like the look of your site better and be more willing to link to your site...which will help you rise in the SERPs.

search engines can't see images. All they see is the image name and the alt tag if filled. if you use firefox, right click on your site, page info, cached snapshot of page, then text version only in the top right corner. That will basically show you how search engines see your site.

Adding images just for the sake of rankings will not help a bit.

I think people should stop building websites for search engines but actually building websites for people. If you think your website will be improved by adding images, then go ahead.

images also.. especially if its the logo of your site.. its serve as the site label.. besides adding alt text makes the image searchable.. and just what google suggest:

Quote:
Try to use text instead of images to display important names, content, or links. The Google crawler doesn't recognize text contained in images.

I guess adding images to your site is really up to you. Sometimes it helps to have lots of traffic and if you want your images to be seen by SE's then write the most relevant alt tags, the ones that describe what your picture is.

i think as long as your site images have some tags.... so that SE read it..... usually SE can't read images
