No follow links means that they are not counted as backlinks. Your site will not get PR juice or any credit for such links.
You can see the source code of a page to identify no follow tag. Or you can use some browser plugin to see no follows tags being highlighted.
No follow link may look like this:
<a rel="nofollow" href=""></a>
And do follow can be like this:
<a href=""></a>

Yes, angilina is right also you can see this with out going to source code, just install seo for firefox addons in your firefox browser and this will highlight nofollow links in your browser.

Hi,
No follow link attribute does not provide any back-link.
You can either check code for that or can use add-on no do follow which will high light dofollow links.

DO follow , No follow
Dofollow means when a bot like googlebot sees the link, it will visit the link and add the url in search.
Nofollow is when a bot like googlebot sees the link but doesnt follow it, but I had read through many posts that some bots do visit a nofollow link.
do follow can be like this:
<a href=""></a>
And No follow link may look like this:
<a rel="nofollow" href=""></a>
Have a nice day.

This is something I really believe in. I just experienced this a while ago. My site got visited by the bots but the link on that site has a "no follow" attribute.

nofollow is commonly used by seo to they websites or blog to avoid spamming and transferring pr juice to other website, most of them created a link to other sites to promote and increase popularity of their own site but using nofollow the links they created are useless.

"Do Follow" tags are given to "Do Follow" links and these links are counted by Search Engines as Backlinks to your website. The links with "No Follow" tags are not backlinks to your website and hence they are not counted by Search Engines.
You can find if a link is a "Do Follow" or a "No Follow" link in the Source of the webpage where your link is located. If there is a "No Follow" tag to your link in the webpage source then the link is a "No Follow" link.
Hope this helps..

it is not easy to find a nofollow or do follow place. you can easily find it by adding some firefox add on such as nodofollow.. etc.
Do follow will be count for the importance of your website. but
no follow will not be count by google

For a more simple explanation,"dofollow" means allowed or permitted while "nofollow" is not allowed. In terms of backlinks,it is better to build in dofollow sites.

You are most welcome Lindsay Nolan. Basically, people wish to have "Do Follow" Backlinks for their websites as "Do Follow" Backlinks are counted by the Search Engines which helps to Increase the website rankings in the Search Engines. When it comes to "No Follow" backlinks, these are not Counted by Search Engines. However, "No Follow" Backlinks on websites with High Traffic may help your website to get Visibility and Build a Brand for your website which is also important.

These tags are basically telling a search engine that they can either follow or don't follow the links that are on their page.
If the Do Follow tag is set up then a search engine will see that link and see it as a link and follow it and you will get credit for it being a back link. If it is no follow it is not.
And some others have already told you how to identify rather or not the site is using do follow or not.

IMO, not all "nofollow links" are not counted by search engines. I believe Yahoo still counts nofollow links as backlinks. However, all nofollow links that Yahoo does follow will not just provide SAME VALUE compared it to normal links.

IMO, nofollow links are still indexed and followed by search engines. Putting "nofollow" value on links only means that you don't trust these links and you're not giving high importance on them.
Same with Google, they also index and follow "nofollow links". Though these links don't have page rank value or don't pass PR juice to other page.

The term Dofollow has no meaning without knowing the term Nofollow.
Dofollow actually arrived from the word, HTML attribute for anchor tag "nofollow".
It indicates to the search engine that the hyperlink should not affect the rankings of the target page.
The one which is opposite to this is dofollow. It affects backlinks and pagerank.
