I think keyword play major roll for getting SERP it's place on image as alt tag, in title, in content and also use in link building using anchor text is good!!!

The most difficult thing would be to find the appropriate keyword to optimize your website for. You have to find some that have enough searches per month but, that do not have too many competitors for (choose the one you think you will be able to reach top rankings for).
