Ranking well in the Yahoo?
Just wondering what does Yahoo look for when they rank your SERP? I have seen no concrete answers, all I have seen are personal experiences. Anyone have an official link, or if not is there an experience everyone mainly shares with ranking in Yahoo Serp?
Some questions to consider?
What kind of links do they like?
How do they like on page optimization?
What about meta tags?
Thanks in advance, looking for some answers!

You probably have not found any concrete answers yet because there aren't any.... Yahoo algorithms are influenced by what seems to be many variables, some including it's paid inclusion programs which seem to influence the results... That's why the results look confusing most of the time.... It's just an algorithm that is inferior to Google than further screwed up through other ad programs which aren't supposed to change the rankings but do..

If your site is new and its ranking in other search engines like Google, MSN etc, and not in Yahoo, then I suggest you wait for sometime as Yahoo usually take more time to rank new sites higher in SERPs.
The main ingredients that are needed to rank good in all SEs is to have excellent content in your site. Content that will help the readers. Such content will automatically attract links, which are called natural links.
If you have great content in your site, then all SEs will rank your site higher in SERPs.

Algorithm is what makes Google, Yahoo and MSN (or say search engines) different from Each other. Google is the best Search Engine as it has the best Algorithm and provides users the most Relevant information according to the Keyword they enter. Hence, all the website owners try to get good rankings in Google.
You will never find an Appropriate answer about the Algorithm of each Search Engine and the answers will only depend on the Users experiences. Hence, it is better that you work on the Content of your website and try to get better rankings on the Search Engines which will let you know more about the Algorithm and you will be able to get good rankings for your websites in Search Engines.

I'm not too sure on what Yahoo looks for exactly but when I optimize for Google it seems I have no problem getting up in Yahoo too without even focusing on them

Big G and Yahoo really do have difference in terms of ranking Algo's. But for me, I just do some proper, good and high authority link building and I am ranking well with both engines.

From my experiance yahoo tends to be a ways behind google so when you get to the top position for a keyword in google a few months later you will see your yahoo serps position increase. Just stick with the basic seo-anchor keywords in your hyper links, use metas (yahoo still places some importance on these), build quality backlinks, seo every page and so on.

Okay thanks a lot guys!
As for the metas, are there ever too many keywords you can place? If you do place a lot wouldn't Google frown upon that?

Links on any sites, with any urls, will help your yahoo rank. For example, you run a google ad through google's partner sites, those ad links counted!

Yahoo is more on content. On-page optimization can help your site rank in yahoo.
