Need advice for .edu or .gov forums

Hi can anybody plz tell me the importance of .edu or .gov forum link for link building means if i can get link from .edu or .gov site is it good.....so plz tell me the .gov or .edu forum sites....

Both have its own importance and backlink from both of them is also useful.

At the very least, they're backlinks, which are always useful, regardless of whether they're .edu, .gov, .ws, .com or .info.

.edu and .gov tend to have a trust factor. There was an interesting SEO post about .edu backlinks that are bought - http://www.free-seo-news.com/newsletter370.htm#facts (its from May 26th)

the TDL makes no difference what so ever

.com is the same as .info, the same as .edu as far as search engines are concerned

Definitely true. TDL is never an issue. It just happen that some authority sites are owned by government thus the most commonly used extensions by them are .edu, .gov. etc.

Always remember, don't just get links on those sites without even analyzing if they are relevant to your website.

the backlinks from .gov and .edu weightage is more in search engines then backlinks from .info or .com

its like backlinks from same niche site gives more effect then from unrelated site backlinks

If you want quality links you need quality content first. Forums links from edu sites won't do you good, unless you have good content.

Matt Cutts has already gone over this, .gov and .edu links don't have any more weight than any other link.

.edu and .gov sites are given much trust by Google for the sole reason that it is really very hard to be able to get a link from these kinds of sites.

Because .edu and .gov sites have basically authoritative links in terms of credibility. Thus making it more equally important to get links coming from these sites.

I personally think that the domain extension have no affect on quality of a backlink. Quality of backlinks depends on the individual pages from where we get a link. Backlink from a relevant and trusted site is important and that can come from a .com, .net etc domains.
