Getting Indexed in MSN?

Super basic question here but does anyone have any tips on how to accellerate the time in which it takes a new site to get included in the current MSN index?

Thanks for any info

MSN's using Inktomi, which is owned by Yahoo, I would say a MS Small Business Directory Listing and a Yahoo! Directory Listing will probably help you.

Plus, since MSNs results are different from the others, don't forget to try and get links from the top sites for your search terms at MSN - they are often not even in the top 100 at GG and Y!

MSN will index any decently linked-to site. But Inktomi is traditionally slow at updating its index.

If I may - I've heard tell of Inktomi ignoring links found on dynamic pages, apparently much prefering to follow links from static pages

Do some searches in Yahoo and MSN for related sites/guestbooks/blogs, and sign them with a backlink to your site... Inktomi will find you a lot faster that way.

blog spammer

if you do sign blog comments make sure you make a post that does not throw your name and credibility into the mud. actually contribute to the conversation. Imagine if Jeremy Z were pissed at you for spamming his blog...your brand can get damaged quickly

Yeah, well obviously. I would assume if you're posting in blogs that are within your field (related links, right??!), you would have some useful and related things to say in your comments. Like for me, whenever I come across a photography blog or guestbook, I sign it and comment on the photographs, site, etc, and usually don't even mention my site, but just put the link in. If people like what you say, you'll not only get the backlink and the spiders, but you will also get some traffic (targetted traffic!), and that what it's all about!

Scary that a blog can beat a company site. Part of the pro-Blog Google conspiracy?
