Adding url in your Forum's profile

Does it help to add your homepage url in your user profile in phpBB/invision/vB forums?

I've joined quite a few and majority of them I just leave it out.

How about in terms of SE perspective? Does it increase backlinks or PR, etc?

It can, but don't put too much faith in them as anything but a bonus for whatever you're already doing with regards to building links.

They show up in backlinks on google. I and not sure if it helps in PR/serps though I use it

I've seen forum spamming bastards get top spots in the SERPs from automated forum registrations.

Ditto all of the above ... but why not put it in there in case people want to find out about you - doesn't always have to be an SEO reason to do things! ;-)
