If a comment is under moderation I'd assume that nobody can see it except the person/people responsible for allowing/rejecting said comments, and maybe yourself.

I think it won't count as a backlink. Since it is still under moderation, it is not yet posted on the web page, so it is not counted as part of the page.

No. Only you see the comment under moderation because of a cookie. No-one else sees it.

It depends if it is posted or not. I have seen some blogs that show the comment and then above it put awaiting moderation my guess with these is they will be counted then there are some that do not place the comment an you only get a message saying comment awaiting moderation these I doubt are counted until published.

I believe it is a just a preview. And if you would visit the page again you won't see it anymore.

If it's a nofollow site then it won't matter if you comments get published or not as you'll never see link love. If it's a popular site or has many comments to scroll through it's likely you won't ever even see traffic from it either.

Under moderation can only be seen by the person that made the comment, and the owner of the blog.

The links under moderation are not calculated as backlinks. The reason is, these links are a way of requesting to the blog/web owner to add your comment with your website's link. Until and unless they are published on the website they will not be considered as backlinks.

Invest some time, effort and maybe even money in aquiring quality back links. NOT quantity.

Links in the moderation status surely are not counted as backlinks. Such comments can only be seen by the moderator in the admin panel, or on the page. in some blogs, the commenter may also see his/her comment but SE bots or other users can never see the comment unless it is approved by the moderator.

Link under moderation only see look like offline not yet release online until the owner approve your comment.

Commenting on blogs are not that useful nowadays They became obsolete 'coz most of the blogs right now have no follow attribute on their links plus the awaiting moderation.

Anyway, I heard a list of blogs which auto-approve comments. I can't remember the exact URL but it became helpful to my past clients.

It is very obvious. Of course it won't be counted because it is under moderation. And the thing is, it might be a nofollow link anyway, so even if it gets approved chances are low for it to be counted as backlinks.
