You know our site is a b2c website,and we just use the common methods to promotion our site,bookmarks,blog,forum, directory,some of them have effect with our site,but now i think it is a hard work,everyday i just build backlinks, it is not a good method to have a good position,right?
So i do not know what should i do.

If it's a new site, it is normal to be difficult. And as you get popular, competition is always there. It wouldn't end soon because you are not an authority site to gain popularity as easy as you imagine. Build quality links and content. Work hard. I'm sure you will gain something out of it.

Ok, thank you zeruel,you know our site has 2 years history,and in my opinion the best way to have a good position is have a good content,and our site is a b2c website,i think if the descripition are right,quality of products are great,prices are not too high,it is not hard to have a good position,and could earn much more money,not like right now,only to build backlinks.

Your crying? That is a lil funny, but you are right. There are a lot of webmasters that feel the only way to beat the SERPs is to build as many un-natural backlinks as possible. The truth is when you are running a marketing campaign rather than only worrying about the outside promotion of your site make sure when someone lands on your site they find it either extremely helpful or satisfying so when you do submit your site to social media such as bookmarking and write articles or press releases people have a reason to place your sites URl on their web presence. Even if you are running a purely commercial website there are ways to make it link bait by either having the most info on the products your selling, largest quantity, best prices, best customer service, or whatever else you can really work on becoming the "best at" then when you market you can give people a reason to share your website with others. I am like you where I have ran myself into the dirt with "marketing" when really I should be focusing on building the best site/service that I can for my traffic making it so they only go through me and are very willing without any prompt or request place my backlinks on their site. Anyway I hope this helps.

A little patience and may be you can start a PPC campaign for the time being, till the time some good traffic comes to your site.

What I've learned from my years (well not that long you know) being a search engine optimizer, a quality content can never be beaten by a site full of inbound links. Why? Because when a site with quality content is optimized, though its competitors are way above it, can beat up even old domains! It can have high PR even if it only has a few inbound links. The most important of all is the "content" followed by the right keywords to target, then proper optimization!

Content and links should come together. You can't just have either one of them and then boom! You rank number 1..

The way you talk here seems like you really have no authority to the site you are optimizing. The problem starts right there. If you are going to optimize a website, authority to optimize the content, change the title, url formats, etc. is one of the requirements you need (btw, of course you can't change the prices yourself).

Why not start optimizing the site for real? Change what is needed to be changed. Optimize the pages, urls, content, etc.

Yes you can do one thing - paid advertising. If you are looking for free ways of optimizing your website then you need to build links daily. If you do not want then you can use adwords.

If you are tired of link building having slow and unproductive results, better be alarmed.

I would suggest you to focus more in posting quality message in forums. Be an active member in a lot of forums. (ofcourse having your signature links)

In addition to that, think of an interesting topic for blogging, then do blog for it.

Blogs do help in increasing you site's value plus it can drive traffic at your site also.
