I think that posting in forums (that is posting good questions, comments and answers not just spamming) is good for the community, if it helps my sites then that is a bonus, I hae learnt a lot here at v7n and hopefully I have helped a few people a long the way too.
I hope people dont post just to get links....the forum works because people are passionate about what they do!
cheers,
craig

dofollow forums would help. Then again I don't think you would a huge benefit. if you would post on related threads that would get you better results.

Forum links are backlinks but they are not quality backlinks. Forum signature links can help to get some direct targeted traffic, but in terms of SEO, they are not much effective.

Forums are okay. But there are better methods of getting backlinks such as article marketing
Your main aim on the forums really should be to build reputation. If the links do follow...well that's a bonus

Forum submission are still effective. The major concern of your is - approval of account to add signature
Well every forum have their own policies and you need to remain in those policies. This is another way to lower down spamming.

I think it depends on your objective. If you just want to build backlinks and get good position on search engine, then only the dofollow forums works. But if you want directly traffic, then you should go to some forums that relevant with your products or industry no matter it is dofollow or unfollow.

Forum Posting is very effective on SEO
Forum Posting is the best way to get one-way links. The importance of one-way links from search engine point of view is very high. In forum posting you need to follow forums guidelines very strictly, otherwise you won't get good results.

Forum Posting is the right term. This task is effective you use it in the efficient way. What I mean is, you must have quality post in this task to gain unique visitors. And aside from that, forum posting can easily boost up your site's backlink.
This is only one of the SEO task. You can also try or look for other effective way.
