Forum signature is something which needs you to enter your anchor text but if you are thinking to set in different anchor text in different forums then it will not help you much. Try to emphasis on one keyword rather than considering different anchor texts.

one of my forum posts from here at v7n showed up when i did a recent check with google using link:domain.com, so google is counting this along with other forum postings you can be sure of that.

how much it affects serps i have no idea, but i assume any link has a value on the internet, of course the real thing here for me is learning and sometimes sharing something that i know or have read.....

Well look at it this way, you should be posting on a forum because you're part of the community and helping by giving quality informationa and recieving it in turn. So if you're going to be doing this anyway, you may as well have a link in your signature because it's not asif it costs you anything or takes any time out of your day. A signature link is something for nothing and although they aren't particularly valuable links they take less effort than any other part of link building, because they are no effort at all.
