but you shouldn't expect much significant pr juice to be transferred from forum threads.

Sounds good but still remember, forums have a lot of outgoing links so the link value per link is devalued greatly. Therefore, not a lot of 'link juice' will be passed via links from forums. Many experts in the industry are of the opinion that forum signatures are of very little SEO value but that they're very useful for getting referral traffic, especially if from a respected poster.

Forum signature would be fruitful only if your comments will contribute to the conversation. Rather than just posting comments for the sake of getting links, it is advisable to post comments that add value to the discussion.

Ok let dropp some numbers here guys.
If your member of one forum and you post 10 000 posts, thats not enough to be important for SEO.

IMO, im talking from my knowledge and my tests, i have like 1 milion posts all over the forum to different various forums and i think signature forums are not good or any good for SEO.

to make 10 000 posts and get that jouice to your website is just as making one blog and placing link in it.
Now you tell me... which is better, posting 10 000 posts or writing article at ezine or any other article marketing....

It depends how quality those 10,000 posts are. In forum posting, the number of your post do not mean much. What matters most is how quality your posts are. You will also represent not only your username but also the site in forum posting (by your signature links). And aside from that, you can learn a lot in actively participating in discussions.

For what you are asking, I do vote in Forum Posting rather than writing an article. But if in SEO, you can use both. Writing quality article and posting quality messages.

Can say the easy and fastest way of link building is Forum posting... And also discussion in forums is upgrading the knowledge.. and sharing the idea is the best .. feel happy...enjoying by talking....
