I am inlove with this network, it took my LPF site, and in 2 days doubled my uniques, and got me top 10 for my main key phrase (from 120).

Businesses that do not take risks will eventually fail
There is calculated risk and blind risk. I fear many, perhaps all, are of the latter.

After Florida many that engaged in blind risk paid the price and any gains ($$)were wiped out in a lot less time than they took to aquire them. The same thing happens daily on smaller scale.

If it's a good thing and it's not going to do more long term harm than good, it will still be there is 12-24 months. That's called calculated risk my friend

BTW, the businesses that are likey to fail are those that refuse to see a coin always has 2 sides and close their ears to all they do not want to hear.

or waiting for opportunity to pass you buy. if you think SEO will be the same as it is today in two years then I really do not know what to tell you.

I guess you have to say that now On the other hand, I can still see it from both sides.

You are doing more guessing again. It is those engaging in, as yet unproven methods, that are banking on SEO staying static. Like I say, how do you know this wont get you dropped from Google all-together? Is patently clear that it is being done for PR and SERP boosting. BTW, SERP boosting is not the same as making pages more relevant.

Someone needs to say it.

There is very little in the world of SEO that should not have both the pro's and cons pointed out, despite you trying to spin otherwise.

fine...since someone needs to say it, I think you are a con man, despite you trying to spin it otherwise.

What on earth am I trying to "con" anyone over??? What possible benefit could I have?

All I have done is posted, what I believe, to be the possible downsides to a new scheme. All you have done is painted it with rose colored glasses. I think it quite clear who is doing the conning here.

You are indeed a strange person awall19 and seem to fear anyone that speaks in difference to you.

the problem is that you authoritatively speak (and when you speak the words are rubbish)

you do not have to share my opinions, just try not to be such an arse with most of your posts...

By resorting to getting personal awall19 you have shown yourself to be the "arse" and the only speaker of "rubbish". This is in addition to being immature about the whole thing and unable to debate without getting personal.

As I say, you fear anyone that speaks in difference to you and are only capable of reacting with personal insults.

When/if I see a post about a new scheme and I believe there could be downsides ascociated I will post with my opinions. The likes of you is not going to phase me for a second. Like it or lump it.

However, should you think of something constructive and meaningful to say I'd be happy to debate maturely with you over the topic.

Im staying out of the bickering ...but Dave I do agree with you that the location of the links (right before the </body> tag) makes it seem a little shady, people will think it's meant just for search engine rankings.

Imo, if I were Shawn, and wanted long term benefits, I'd require the ads to be placed in a visable location and not the footer like that.

Hi Shawn

My other concern is that the links are not in anyway on-topic to the site housing them and are shown at random (not such thing really but you get my point). They are quite clearly there in hope of artificially inflating their PR. If unrelated sites start increasing each others PR in this way, Google will likely not sit back and ignore it. As I have mentioned, hundreds of thousands got caught in the Florida drag-net. I fear the same could happen to those jumping on-board this scheme.

Anyway, I'll repeat my opening statement on this, best of luck to those using it and I truely hope it doesn't do harm in the long term. I have absolutely no hidden agenda on this and certainly have nothing to gain (except personal insults by posting some very possible downsides.

Just been reading another post about a site being dropped to the Twighlight zone. The reasons, stated by GoogleGuy, they were linking to "Bad neighbourhoods". Food for thought I believe.
