Website SEO related queries
Team,
I am new to this forum, I am not sure if this is right area to ask what i am asking. I just launched my website www.itforumz.com. In like 7 days i got 9000 hits, Ofcourse, direct traffic from several of my friends all over the world. I use smf templates, not done any SEO yet? I asked few guys in india who bid on my project asking a lot of money to do SEO work on this website. As i am new to this website thing, i would need a suggestion regarding my website is it looking ok, any issues with the website or any On page optimization (i did as a newbie). Please recommed me if you think i need a professionals help.

I would say just to your SEO stuffs, growth naturally, fine your IT related forum and let have some deal with them for exchanged links.

"In like 7 days i got 9000 hits" don't mean anything, only unique visitor/page views count.
What you should do is making your forum more url friendly, check how you can improve it there: http://www.jerry-bell.com/search-eng...achines-forum/
You should also upgrade your forum from vers SMF 1.1.10 to SMF 2.0

In my opinion, you should get a more unique brand on your site to favor visitor retention and signup. Even if there is great information on it, starting a forum is very tough without some marketing.
You might want to merge some categories to have a higher topic/posts counts to help the perception that it is active.

SMF 2.0 is in market but in beta version, is it ok to install it in production.As currently my site is in production..

That doesn't mean any good (9000 hits in 7 days), if they are not unique visitors.
Also, my points is to market it naturally on other forums or related websites and attract users to your forum and help them stick around. Don't try to spam or put on fake posts.

nice.. i suggest to invite more people to be a member and keep the forum alive and well organize.. the more post more better.. you can also try adding something new, something that members can enjoy..

Thankyou for the respoces, 9000 hits i mean i did not overcommunicated... its 9000+ page hits by about more then 500 unique visitors, again thats my direct contact... All my collage friends, my students, office members, family, other friends online friends, etc...etc.
May be some came through other resources. I will try to concentrate on SEO stuff, inceasing posts...i will keep working on it.. OFF Page optimization & on page optimization i am hiring a few guys for it.. (php programmers). Anything else,, how long it usually take for a website to show up some godd responce via search engine and other stuff?
