Ranking Question

In yahoo I rank #1 for my main term:

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=strippers

But, if I search for a city location like http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=fp...cago+strippers
why doesnt my link chicago strippers, show up in a search for that term. Is the keyword density too low, too high you think?

The internal links are crawled as evident in
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=sit...sphonebook.com

So what do you think?

Thanks,
Shawn

Not sure, but I'm guessing you only have a few links that have the anchor text "chicago strippers".

Nothing special, just forum links, blog links etc. Just recently added the page to some good directories. I just find it wierd that it's not ranking even somewhat well. The site is in Yahoo's "Most Popular" section of http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Ec...xotic_Dancing/

Is this most likely due to a lack of proper backlinks to that page or do you think it's a site design / seo optimization problem?

Shawn Steele, IMHO, I recomend you working on subdomains, something like this:
http://tucson.strippersphonebook.com

Instead of this:
http://www.strippersphonebook.com/st...-strippers.htm

I'm personally experimenting with subdomains and seeing good resutls coming, my theory is that the robot doesn't need to crawl deeper if you do a subdomain and you place all the .htm in the root of the subdomain instead of crawling inside a specific folder like /strippers regardless the folder keyword.

Remember what our great master (John) teach us, "keyword first..."

Sorry for my bad english, I hope you can get the point.

Good point Sabo. How are your results for this on Yahoo vs Google?

I'm having by far better results in Google right now than Yahoo.

My subdomains are working the way they ment to work, with the keyprhases we were looking for.

I only need to add tons of backlinks.
