Why are they Number 3?

Hey People,

Time to flex that grey matter.....

The following site, www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk is number 3 on Google UK for maternity wear.

The page doesn't seem to have much on page content but has good Metas, title etc and also a shed load of quality back links.

Would the back links be the reason they are doing so well in the SERPs.

It looks like they only have 30 backlinks or so. perhaps the PR of the sites in question is very high is my first thought, but whats interesting is that the pages, as you say are tight(good), but they are not over the top optimized. It has to be the PR of the other sites, but 30 back links seems to be an awfully low number to get a #3 especially for the term maternity wear, I would research the competetion, perhaps there is none?

ahhhhh... I see, you're the competition, and you're wondering how they did it!!!! I apologize for the gray matter...but yes it would appear that have some strong PR sites coming in, check them out and let me know I'd be curious.

Not smart...if ur the competition.

phuggett, just because you can't see the backlink, doesn't mean they aren't there. Assume they have a bunch of links that aren't showing up.

I tried to quickly look at this a couple of ways and I think they have thousands of links going. Anywhere from 2500 to 5500 and maybe more.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for your replies. I have a very cunning plan, I am going to work my a*se off optimising our site and getting backlinks etc. Keep your eyes opening on those SERPs people, and be afriad, be very afraid!!!
