Un doing a 301 re-direct

I have a site that was doing great on Google #3 and Msn #1 for many keywords. I did a 301 to a new domain name about a month ago.

The site has never recovered from the 301. should I cancel the 301, or just wait longer for it to recover. How will go ogle treat a cancel of the 301.

301 redirect has safty permanent in your site its make to java script.

How did you redirect your site?

Did you point the old domain via your domain registrar to the new domain and put a 301 permanent redirect instruction in the .htaccess file at the new location?
