Adwords is not the same, in general PPC provides high quality traffic when it is setup properly, you can also do some viral marketing but I really don't like it.

I was talking about services that sale traffic/unique visitors, pretending that they bring quality visitors or targeted traffic, which is false, nothing more.

I agree on this. I bought once this kind of traffic (get zillion of visitors for a few bucks), almost nothing delivered, and zero conversions.

Well, the advertising on social networking and bookmarking sites are the best way to earn traffic. Sites like facebook, myspace, twitter and stumbleupon are being used highly. It is worth to spend money to get advertising space on these sites.

Pay Per Click is the only way to get unique visits. but if there is a way of getting traffic in Organic search engine, still go for organic searches so that you can't spend lot of money just for having traffics.
