Digg dofollow changed to nofollow

Hi,

I created a digg entry with the anchor text being pointing to my website. It was dofollow link, but after few days they have changed to nofollow. Please let any one tell me why this has happened. Is there any thing I can do to avoid this happen the next time.

Also suggest me how can i change this nofollow to dofollow.

I guess you've not read this post on the official digg blog. Follow this URL to read the post: http://blog.digg.com/?p=864. Dig puts rel="nofollow" if they're not sure about your link. I hope you get an answer to your confusion.

Its not really a bad news. Digg is applying 'nofollow" tags only to the links which it doesn't trust, its purpose of doing so is just to stop spamming to its site. Once you gain the trust the nofollow tag would be removed.

I dont understand why yall are surprised? Most social bookmarking sites are nofollow.

What they do - a new site will open and advertise themselves as "dofollow". This causes thousands of people to sign up and submit their pages in the hopes of getting deep backlinks.

After the owners of the bookmarking site are happy with the number of members and their pagerank, they add nofollow to the links. And the site gets tons of links from people advertising they as "dofollow".

This happens all the time.

You should ALWAYS consider a bookmarking site as "nofollow". Even if its not right now, it will be in the future.
