It seems as though it would be worth the effort to do internal SEO to begin with. Traffic grows exponentially and if your growth is as fast as you say it is, then much of this is word of mouth. An extra 30,000 could become an extra 90,000 6 months from now and if that's when you offer your product, then you are appealing to a much wider audience to start with.
Additionally, if you offer a newsletter, it pays to get as many people signed up to that as soon as possible. Not only so that you can notify them later, but to sell sponsorships sooner.
