Content shmontent, just steal words

While checking some of my pages in Google, I came upon the following garbage:

http://www.term-life-store.com/Life+...nce+Terma.html

Don't bother reading too closely; all that text is out-of-context snippets from other sites, including mine. The site author is apparantly too lazy to write anything himself.

I'm not too upset; if anyone actually reads that stuff, they'll see what an idiotic site it is. And if they don't read it, and buy anyway, they probably deserve what they get.

Is this kind of content-theft common, incompetent or otherwise?

I see that kind of stuff every-damn-day.

Google's Adsense standards are piss poor! They're really driving down the overall quality of content on the web!

It happens all the time. Yet it is still illegal. In content areas that I know are susceptible to being swiped, I bury a comment code in the middle of my text that includes my domain name. Lazy people who swipe other text often just copy/paste which leaves the comment code in it. They have a hard time explaining to their host why my domain name is on their page, and I've gotten a few booted from their host as well.

Now if your really want to get on them, copyright infringement carries a potential infringement cost of $150,000

If someone steals your ideas, info and/or text, just feel good knowing that they want to be you and emulate you

And if they break into your house and steal your stuff, you can feel good knowing they think you have fine taste.
