Will google penalize me for all links being same?

Hi,

Right now, I have nailed an "under construction" message on my domain, from the day I purchased this domain.

Currently, am in the process to create a new website for my business, and I have completed my cute and lovely homepage so far, which I want to upload to my domain. The problem is, that I have not created rest of the pages yet, and my plan is to upload page-by-page, as they will be done. And, my site has about 20 pages (links) to be done. Their navigation have been done.

The problem is, that since rest of the pages are not completed, it would obviously be bad to link them in my homepage "now", and provide search engines the broken links. The only option seems to me is, to temporarily target all my links to the homepage. But will google see it as spammy? I mean, though only temporary, but google will see it as a single page website, with 20 links to itself, wouldn't it will annoy on me?

Or it would be better to remove all hyperlinks and leave the homepage without any link?

Which option is good a good practice, not just google, but as a general SEO. All descriptive suggestions are welcome.

I would not upload a half finished site. Better to use a placeholder page with keyword rich content.

I think that you should finish up the site first and then upload it to your webhost.

An under construction page is OK for Google. I used to get a PR 2 with only one under construction page.
Broken links on your sites are not recommended. IMO

Only put working links on the pages and add links to new pages only when they are finished and uploaded. that means your site won't have any broken links.

You may check broken links using : Free Online Broken Link Checker

Thanks all for help..

I appreciate the suggestion of putting the whole site at once, even this is what the best way I thought about. But since, completion of the site may take a couple of months, and I have perfectly created a keyword rich (with useful and informative content too) homepae. So, I can't can't resist the temptation of putting my homepage there, which could also be considered as a placeholder page for convinience.

So, my confusion is still intact. If I have only two options, having a single page with no links at all, or having a single page with all links pointed to itself, which one should I prefer? (Though I will personally prefer the second option, so that I don't lose the "Hyperlinks Formatting", not even temporarily. but not on the cost of looking like a spammy site).

Ofcourse, no broken links. only links to the root site itself.

In short, No links vs 20 links to itself. who's the winner and who's the loser in SEO?

PS: Does v7n has any kind of inactivity timeout? I used to be an old and active member of these forums a few months ago, but now when I tried to login, I was unable to do so. So that, I had to create a new ID.

Hi,

Loading only home page is not beneficial, can you try to create atleast 4 or 5 more pages in 15 days and then upload your site....it is more logical and beneficial for you....if you can't then i suggest not to put any link on the home page.....but i recommend you to go with 1st option.

I think putting a under construction page is cool with google as long as you are making a constant updating in it.

As an alternative, you can use nofollow attribute for the links.
