Why did I post this? Because it is a hint that optimizing your inner product pages is just as important as optimizing any other page of your site.

Google has a similar feature in their search results: Sitelinks

Great share here! Thanks for the link. But is it that we should concentrate on promoting inner links or deeplink only after our homepage has gained enough PR? Or should we do it simultaneously?

You should be working on your whole site. Now that being said, some of you might find that idea overwhelming so just take it in small steps, work on optimizing and link building a page at a time.

When you are link building, you don't have to get links to your home page, you can build links to an inner page when the place you are submitting your link is appropriate. Some places (like directories and resources pages) might only allow root domain links (linking to your domain name) so also look for opportunities where inner page links are allowed.

There is a trap with deep links. When you optimize a specific page and that do not produce the result you are waiting for, you have to change the url, title, description and modify the content. All you can do is redirect the old link to the new one and it can be a pain if you have many pages like that. It also means that all the backlinks with text anchor links are wasted some how.

The main problem occurs when search engines update their algos. When you calibrate a page and you are ranking #1 on a very competitive keyphrase, then the update change is coming, sometimes the same page rank nowhere or too far to be viewed to generate exposure.

I followed a rule to make no more then 2 clicks to reach my deep pages from my index, and it is pretty successful because if the deep page rank drop, at least people can find you by the index or product categories or even other products.

The wide deep links displayed under the domain is generated automatically by search engines. Not all the sites get this feature, it depends of your field competition and heavy optimization.

I totally agree with you on that. But I have so many pages

So I'll be focusing more on the most important ones (but I really do want to optimize my inner pages the way I used to with my homepage).

Thanks for your post.

After such a long time I am back in this forum again because I am doing SEO since such a long time but I cant see good result for my site.My site is not penalised as I am doing it properly keeping all google algorithm in mind.

Anyways.I would concentrate now to promote deeplinks first.
