With all the constant barrage of social media and many commenting how much it helps (which I have personally found to be a terrible waste of time as compared to writing and posting my research articles, blogging and even videos to some extent), my question is does Facebook use no follow attibutes as MySpace does?
I have a MySpace account (including a separate proofessional one), which I have found to be a total waste of valuable time. If MySpace at least let my outbound links count it might be marginally worth the time spent with all the games, popularity contests and other poop that goes on there. As it stands now, I have links pointing in (which in essence MySpace is link hoarding), but none going out. I now currently post pictures, bios more now on my personal website where those interested can see them without the heavy handed removal of music players or other material that is mine by "Tom" (he would make a great dictator LOL)
Getting back to my question, many have told me that Facebook is better than MySpace, but after my experience with MySpace I am rather cautious about wasting more valuable time (I already work 70-80 hours, so every minute counts). So part two of the question (besides the no-follow tags), does Facebook have all the silly games, silly popularity contests, and heavy handed control over your own content?
Personally from MySpace, twitter and other social media I have dabbled in, I am very unimpressed.
Thanks for taking the time for anyone's thoughts
