How do I increase traffic?

My site is not really getting a lot of hits like it should, average is 10 unique per day.

Question is, whether it be editing code, or doing something else, how do I get more traffic to this site? I use forum posts for advertisement in the marketing sections on various sites, but that doesn't seem to help.

Help!!!

I don't think this method would work OK even if such forums are in your niche.

Try using so other channels like free ads, social bookmarking ...

By building more quality backlinks to the site we can get more traffic.

Forum posting cannot give you an instant traffic but it helps you to gain your quality links. And you need to gain more quality link to rank in SE's. That's why you need to do the link building process with your target keyword. Having a good rank in SE's will result a good traffic.

But there are many ways to increase your traffic. You can participate in social networks like twitter. Or simply focus in off page optimization. And if you have a budget do PPC campaign.

by getting quality back links on related sites with no of links your site will be rank on google so that u can get traffic for your site

you can do social book marking, and do use of social networking sites to have more traffic. Ex: use facebook and twitter.

Rank in SE (google really is the only that counts) for your niche related keyphrases

Pay somebody for SEO if you don't know it or start learning it but expect many failures untill succes ..

What type of site is it? What is your market?

Find other sites in your nitche and advertise their... signature links from a site in the same category of yours is a huge plus.

If its a blog link to other blogs in that topic.. make friends w/ them and get links back.. etc...

The best thing is to write unique content using long tail keywords which are less competitive.This you will get good traffic in less time.
