News search engines

How would I get my news website (not blog, website) to rank on Yahoo! news? Is this different than regular SEO?

I think its just similar in optimizing for other SE. You can submit it to news sites and allow it to be crawled by bots and you'll see your news in SE for a couple of hours or so on.

Actually you cannot submit a press release directly to Yahoo News.

All press releases available on Yahoo! originate from other sources. We can't take individual press releases and add them to our service.

If you're interested in having your corporate press releases show up on Yahoo!, please contact PR Newswire, Business Wire, PrimeZone, or Market Wire. For Canadian corporate press releases, please get in touch with Canadian Corporate News, Canada Newswire, or BCE Emergis.

If you're interested in having your government, political, or non-profit press releases show up on Yahoo!, contact U.S. Newswire.

For a fee, these services will make sure hundreds of news services are aware of your announcements.

Agree with him here. Simply target relevant and related sites in your own niche, i.e., news and daily updates sites. Get as many links from such related sources so as to rank high in the News related niche of sites.

I have had good luck with posting to forums related to my site. There are a few big site that are in my niche and they generate a good bit of traffic just from reading clicking my signature plus the linkbacks I get for SEO

My advice would be to no think about those backlinks so much and think more on a smaller level with just more smaller level backlinks
