Text links over graphic links.

Is there a big difference seo-wise if you use buttons with alt names over text links with the same anchor as the alt?

I was panicking a bit there myself as I seem to have a load of banner links to a specific site and I was going to say something as I had asked for text links.

probably not weighted the exact same, but it has a similar function.

Funnily enough, before Google started listing Platinax by it's meta-description, the text in the site listing was entirely based on the alt tag text of the graphics at the top of the index page.

I'm not sure whether there's a weightnig different for graphical links, but alt tags seem to work good.
