Trends in SEO..

Seems to me there have been allot of changing trends in SEO in the last year. Twitter (which I don't like along with other Social Media) Directory's seem not worth persuing, DMOZ (who cares..)

What do you think are solid SEO Tactics.

1) Keyword Content (onpage SEO)
2) Link Building (offpage SEO)

Anyone got any specfic Tactics they find easy, and successful?

Angela's method is one of the most simple. Creating profiles in high PR sites. Or you could just find related sites to your niche and create comments or profiles. Then you just do a nice amount every day and never stop

I wonder how well this works? I think Google is probably smart enough to figure out you are just building prfiles with links and not participating at the site.

But who knows! I guess I will setup a test on this one.

Creating profiles can certainly be effective. I think article submissions have their place too.

If you wish to get traffic with low investment, social media optimization is the answer. But the initial learning curve is steep and it should be done carefully.

As far as off-page SEO is concerned, it is easy to get links with social bookmarking, do-follow blog commenting, forum posting, and article marketing.

Well, I wouldn't really call it changes with the SEO tactics, only additional techniques and some changes in doing them to be fit for the guidelines that Google has given for SEOs... I don't know when or if they will launch Google Caffeine if there will be changes in SEO or if there will still be a need for it...

I agree with you, because its the latest trend that people are craving for to do specially the photo and video blogging.

For link building new sites, directories and article submission are still good for me. But after some time, I do a link wheel to generate more backlinks on pages and traffic.

Article marketing is also a very nice way to get backlinks to your site though it is not easy to do.

For me, just keep on doing those SEO techniques that you know. So that you can figure out which is the effective one.

Link bait, in it's simplest form, is learning to write JUICY HEADLINES, headlines
that are irresistible. Once seen, people just have to visit the URL.

But the headlines really should be backed up some decent content on the topic.

If you google link bait, you'll find tons of tutorials and advice on it.

It's time to put something irresistible on your site.

Spread the word a little and watch it grow.

True, content is always important and also backlinks. Just make sure that you make efforts on making good contents for your readers and visitors so that they'll find your site important. And as of backlinks, as usual quality should be a basis.. =)

Content is king. The more the better, it will never go out of fashion. Making a bunch of blog sites in a niche to link back combine content and links.
