The "now you see it now you dont" site

has anyone else had a site go from #2 to #7 then disappear, then reapper again... over and over.... for yahoo search listings?

IS FOLLOWING TRUE?

"""The search engines all have numerous data centers around the country (and the world). These data centers are in a constant cycle of being updated. In fact in different parts of the country, at exactly the same time of day, you may well see significantly different search results on the same search terms.

Sites that are relatively new from the search engine's perspective, changing quite dramatically. As a result these newer sites are having their rankings updated VERY frequently. This rush by the search engines to keep up with the newly granted rankings, sometimes causes the problem you saw earlier today during their data center updates.

We occasionally see this phenomenon with Yahoo, and have seen it with MSN a couple of times as well. It almost always corrects itself in a couple of hours. The search engines try to do all their updates in the early AM, since most search engine traffic occurs between about 2PM (ET) and 10PM (ET) each day, so the problem, on the rare occasion when it occurs, usually resolves itself by the time the daily search traffic starts to hit its daily peaks."""

yes i have this problem before, my site appear and disappear from #1 in few keywords in Yahoo.com for 1 week + , but after one week - two week it will stay at that position or a bit lower position and will not disappear again. But if your site site has been there for long time and now it disappear and appear, it is better to resubmit to yahoo again.

I am lunky that now it is in position +1 in some keywords and belived it will last for few months. (try submit every month)

This is my experienced , it may be wrong. Hope that it will help you ....

It is worth to understand how yahoo works, because it seems to be easy to cheat y!. You can do some kind of spam and disallow google, and get tons of traffic from yahoo without getting banned by google..

I have this happen a lot. We send our clients we manage weekly search engine position reports showing their progress. Yahoo does this jumping around quite a bit...but what we notice is the results "DO" always come back....and eventually, it's like all the data centers update and it stops happening.
