SEO as your Career : Really Worth?

I found this very interesting about "SEO as a career". Is it really worth with SEO as career that can make money with SEO services. How important is seo as career to someone that use it to make money online...

How important it is it's one of the condition it takes to make real money online (if you don't use marketing and spend money on advertising ...) ...

I'm a seo freelancer since 2004 and i earn way much more from home then any job i could have in real life ...

I think it's a good business because SEO is worth a lot to companies. People are willing to pay good prices because getting into the top 10 is invaluable. Also there's no product you're selling so you don't have to worry about inventory.

SEO is like many other professions in that there is a small number that make a lot of money at it, and a large number that make little money at it. Similar to real estate... in that it's pretty easy to get into, but most practicioners are not that knowledgeable, and some that are mediocre at the job but very good at self-promotion make more than knowledgeable people that are unknown.

Unlike real estate... there isnt a license required, any bozo that can string together a few acronyms and BS his way into an owners office can claim to be one. As a result those that are talented often get tarred with the same brush as hordes of wannabes and fakes.

As stated by several here, the job offers a chance to work from home, make a living online, and your success is largely in your own hands. You can have a raise when you want one, it just becomes effective when YOU do.

Doing freelance SEO can be a very lucrative career, but you have to be good at it and be a good sales person.
Also, it is relatively new so who knows, it may just be a fad of the moment so don't put all your eggs in one basket.

For me, i can not take SEO as a carrier, i can only practise it for my blogs and thats all, but i dont mean it's not worth it cause everyone has his/her own taste.

There are many newbies who think that they can become an SEO and start their shop to make easy money. This is happening because there are no barriers to entry in this profession. But then what happens? These self-proclaimed SEOs can not deliver any results to the clients. They can not even get their own website at the top of search engines. Such people would never be successful in the long run.

So if you want to take SEO as a career, sincerely invest your time and energy in learning more about SEO. Build a portfolio of your own sites to show to the potential clients. Deliver results to your clients and your clients will refer you to many other potential clients.
