Anyways, the information in those directory-trackers or wtf they are called
is usually copied from someplace else.

Trust me, no one in his/her right mind is going to invest the time to verify
all that information JUST FOR YOU AND ME.

Their REAL purpose is to get you to click on one of their advertisements.

Only do so much of directories. It hits a point to where it becomes a waste of time in a way. Hit your top page rank-ed ones then leave it at that and move on to bigger things.

Submitting your site to directories is good but you should not consider this as your only means of seo because there are better ways of doing it. You can also try article marketing and commenting in dofollow blogs.

vmoption and directory cirtic is having good directory list. don't worry about them. directory submission is the best way to get quality link.

directorycritic.com I used this and they also provide a deep linking submission. They really builds backlinks to your website and increase your PR and search engine rankings. Just do the directory submission.

it's great list, but don't try to use old database every time to generate thread to traffic but try some more updated things in search engine optimization, web development and web marketing.

Directory listing - Just waste of time unless you pick the directories like Yahoo! Business.com or DMOZ etc.

I agree on floorra82. Directory submissions are just waste of time if you don't post your links on high reputation directories. My standard in directory submission is at least PR5 above.

Do directory submission in quality / top directory. You can even find the list in buildmylink dot com. You can find it useful.

I am not really fond of directory submission. Instead I recommend that you be active in forums and blog commenting on relevant blogs.. :-)
